The Executive Committee of the Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, would like to acknowledge and congratulate the trainees and faculty who received the following HMS Psychiatry Awards and Fellowships during 2025. It is a marvelous way to celebrate our vibrant combined academic community.

**Stuart T. Hauser, MD, PhD, Mentorship Award -** The yearly award is given to three faculty members at Harvard Medical School for outstanding sustained mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty in the areas of adult and child psychiatry, human development, and psychosocial research.

- **Roscoe Brady, MD, PhD,** Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
- **Eugene D’Angelo, PhD**, Boston Children’s Hospital
- **Felicia Smith, MD**, Massachusetts General Hospital

**Cynthia N. Kettyle Teaching Award for Medical Student Education in Psychiatry** – Presented annually since 2004 to HMS faculty members who have inspired medical students by their warmth, character and dedication to medical student teaching in psychiatry and have exemplified for students the vitality and relevance of psychiatry to medical practice.

- **Ann Shinn, MD, MPH**, McLean Hospital
- **Naomi Schmelzer, MD, MPH**, Brigham and Women’s Hospital

**Jonathan F. Borus Outstanding Early Career Educator Award** **in Medical Student Education in Psychiatry** – Presented annually since 2011 to junior HMS faculty members at Harvard Medical School who have demonstrated exceptional promise, initiative and commitment in the area of psychiatric education.

- **Felipe Jain, MD**, Massachusetts General Hospital
- **Geoffrey Liu, MD,** McLean Hospital

**Mysell Award for Best Poster Presentation by a Fellow** - Award given for the best poster presentation by a **Fellow** at the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry Research Day.

- **Subha Subramanian, MD,** Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - “Brain mechanisms of rTMS-induced antidepressant response”
- **Christiana Westlin, PhD,** Massachusetts General Hospital - “Delineating Network Integration and Segregation in the Pathophysiology of Functional Neurological Disorder”

**Solomon Award for Best Poster Presentation by a Resident** - Award given for the best poster presentation by a **Resident** at the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry Research Day.

- **Andrew Pines, MD,** Brigham and Women’s Hospital **- “**Multiple Sources of Causal Data Converge on a Common Circuit for Psychosis”

**Dupont Warren Fellows –** Awarded to HMS Psychiatry Residents to create opportunities for advanced study and research in Psychiatry, and to serve as a bridge between clinical training and the development of a research career.

- **David Adamowicz, MD, PhD**, Brigham and Women’s Hospital – “Immune Landscape of Preclinical Alzheimer's Disease”
- **Sahand Babapoor Farrokhran, MD, PhD**, Massachusetts General Hospital – “Improving cognitive function in Alzheimer’s disease using transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS)”
- **Amanda Koire, MD**, Brigham and Women’s Hospital – “Written Exposure Therapy (WET) for the Treatment of Childbirth-related Post-Traumatic Stress: A Pilot Study”
- **Ali Raza, MD, PhD**, Brigham and Women’s Hospital – “Discovering Retinal Biomarkers of Bipolar Disorder and Quantifying Neuroprotection in Response to Lithium”
- **Juliana Zambrano, MD, MPH**, Massachusetts General Hospital – “Development of a ketamine-assisted group therapy intervention for Spanish-speaking adults with depression”

**Kaplen Fellowship on Depression –** This Fellowship was endowed specifically to support training in research on depression and allied affective disorders.

- **Hadar Fisher, PhD**, McLean Hospital – “Personalized Early Detection of Depression Onset Using Mobile Passive Sensing of Stress Indicators”

**Livingston Award –** This award provides support to beginning investigators in psychiatric research.

- **Ali Raza, MD, PhD**, Brigham and Women’s Hospital – “Discovering Retinal Biomarkers of Bipolar Disorder and Quantifying Neuroprotection in Response to Lithium”
- **Sean Carey, PhD**, VA Boston Healthcare System – “The contribution of thalamic reticulate nucleus electrical synapses to sleep and hippocampal memory consolidation”
- **Ayşe Büşra İplikçi, PhD**, Cambridge Health Alliance – “Accelerated epigenetic aging in infants: Relations to maternal childhood maltreatment and infant limbic brain volumes”
- **Yukyeong Lee, PhD**, Massachusetts General Hospital – “Investigating microglia-neuron interactions in schizophrenia using brain organoids”
- **Albert Lo, PhD**, Cambridge Health Alliance – “Addressing Acculturative Barriers to Depression Treatment for Ethnic-Minority and Immigrant Youth”
- **Juliann Purcell, PhD**, McLean Hospital – “Structural Neural Correlates of Anhedonia in Dissociation”
- **Michelle Thai, PhD**, McLean Hospital – “Neurobiology of Positive and Negative Perseverative Thinking in Female Adolescents with and without Depression”
- **Rebekah Trotti, PhD**, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – “Personalizing HD-tDCS for emotion recognition in early course psychosis”
- **Elizabeth Waldron, PhD**, Massachusetts General Hospital – “Understanding Recovery Needs among Perinatal Persons with Depression and Substance Use Disorder”
